Transfer Credit

Lexington College accepts academic credit from most accredited colleges and universities. The maximum amount of credit hours that can be transferred into Lexington is 64 semester (96 quarter) hours. There is no minimum of transfer credits required for admission; however, students with less than 12 semester (18 quarter) hours must apply as a First-Year Applicant

Credits earned at another accredited college or university will be evaluated and only a "C" (2.0 on a four point scale) or higher grade can be transferred. Upon evaluation, credits, comparable degrees and/or coursework will be credited to the student's progress toward her Lexington degree, if appropriate. Credit earned in developmental and remedial courses, continuing education unit (CEU) or non-accredited institutions are nontransferable. The grades and credits will be recorded on the Lexington College transcript, but will not be computed into the Lexington College GPA. Culinary arts classes will be evaluated separately.

Acceptance does not guarantee credit. Credits will be evaluated and comparable degrees and/or coursework will be credited to the student's progress toward her Lexington bachelor's degree if appropriate and if the courses were completed with a grade "C" or higher (with a numeric value of 2.0 on a four point scale) at another accredited college or university.

An official review of transfer credits by the Office of the Registrar will take place after admission into Lexington College’s degree program. To view the admission requirements for transfer students, please visit the Transfer Applicants  page. For a preliminary review of transfer credits, contact the Transfer Admissions Counselor and submit an unofficial or official transcripts. In order to accept any transfer credits, an official transcript from every community/technical college and/or 4-year college/university is required.

Enrolled Lexington students wanting to attend a course for credit at another accredited college or university and requesting the transfer of credit must obtain written approval from the Registrar in consultation with the academic dean before registration. Course credit not approved in advance is not guaranteed as transferable to the Lexington College degree. Only credit hours transfer, not grades.
