Anyone is welcome to use the library resources. However, only students, staff and faculty at Lexington College can check out materials.

Library Resources

Books
Students at Lexington College have access to over 3000 books. Books circulate for a period of two weeks with options for renewal. Only three books may be checked out at a time. A fine will be assessed for all overdue, damaged or lost books. Overdue fines are 25 cents per book/per day. “Reference” and “Reserve” books and all periodicals are for IN-LIBRARY USE ONLY.

Periodicals
The library subscribes to more than twenty hospitality related periodicals and trade newspapers that provide current information about the hospitality industry. Click for a complete listing of Periodicals.

Electronic Databases
Lexington’s library has access to OCLC First Search and Infotrac. FirstSearch gives Lexington Library users instant online access to fifteen databases, Link to list of FirstSearch Databases eight of which contain online full text articles on a wide range of subject areas. Infotrac: Expanded Academic ASAP/EAIM provides library users with access to almost 9 million articles from journals that include Australian Journal of Hospitality Management, Hospitality Design, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Leisure & Hospitality Business, Restaurant Hospitality, and many more. Reference

UIC Library

Lexington College has a reciprocal borrowing agreement with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). With a valid Lexington College ID, students, staff, and faculty may borrow books and any other regularly circulating items from the general collections at the UIC libraries. Students may search the UIC collection online from the Lexington Library.

Interlibrary Loan
Lexington College has access to Interlibrary Loan Services throughout Illinois. If Lexington does not have a desired book or periodical, a student may fill out a Search Request Form provided by the librarian and request the Librarian to perform electronic database searches to locate the needed material and request shipment from its home library.

Computer Services
Computers are available at the library for research and assignments.
